Wellbeing
Each class starts the day with a 30-minute wellbeing session. Many of our pupils have long journeys to school, and this time gives our young people the time they need to feel safe, connected to their staff and peers, and regulated. It is also a time when activities are planned to support learners to make progress towards individual EHCP outcomes. For example, pupils may complete sensory circuits, participate in social skills sessions or engage in activities specific to their individual strengths and interests.
For pupils who require 1:1 support to develop and maintain their wellbeing, we have a school counsellor, and HLTAs specialising in Nurture and behaviour support. We have a range of specialist areas such as 3 sensory rooms, an art therapy room a playroom and intervention areas to meet pupils' individual needs.
